Biography Clare Link-Oberstar is a concept-driven artist who works with a variety of processes and materials, including printmaking, sculpture, encaustic painting, and fabrics. She was born in Sacramento, California and now lives and works in Denver, Colorado. She expects to graduate with a BA in Studio Art with distinction from the University of Denver in the Spring of 2021. Her work deals with topics relating to broad social justice issues, such as femme bodies, racial justice, and human rights. Her work has been featured in student exhibitions in the Shwayder Art Building and in a virtual exhibition curated by the Vicki Myhren Gallery on the University of Denver Campus. Clare is a passionate activist and is most called to create work that is in conversation with the greater issues of the moment through a feminist lens of inclusivity. She attempts to explore her own relationship to certain social issues and stigmatized objects creating work that brings private struggles into the public eye. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors including skiing and hiking, caring for her many foster cats, and engaging in political discourse with friends and colleagues.
